Quartz is a mineral composed of silicon and oxygen in a continuous framework of silicon-oxygen tetrahedra. Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in earth’s crust behind felspar. Quartz crystals are chiral and exist in two forms, the normal a-quartz and the high temperature b-quartz. There many different varieties of quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones. Varieties of quartz  have been sought after and desired by peoples of all times.

Lemon quartz is created by bombarding clear quartz with gamma rays. It is sometimes called Ouro Verde, meaning green

gold, due to its greenish-yellow coloration. Lemon quartz has a very high vibrational energy and will require cleansing or recharging. It gives powerful protection to the user; however some people may feel nauseous when touching it, and sensitive people may have strong adverse reactions to it.
